An Exclusive International Ayurveda Psoriasis Treatment Center... Atharva Ayurveda, Rajkot, Gujarat, India...

I have suffered from psoriasis in varying severity since the age of about 10. I am now in my late 40s. During this time, I have tried steroids, dithranol, uv light, homeopathy, hypnosis, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, with varied and generally limited success. Dithranol was quite effective for short periods but very messy and hard to use. In January 2014, I was experiencing a major flare up that even a short course of strong steroids was unable to provide relief from.

It was all over my body. My wife did some searching on google and came across the website of Dr. Joshi and his clinic in Rajkot. Dr Joshi agreed to take me on as a patient and I completed a 15-day course of treatment at the beginning of February 2014. The treatment involved daily Ayurvedic massage, adherence to a strict diet, meditation and relaxation. At the end of the treatment, nearly all patches of psoriasis had gone and a week later, I was completely clear. Since returning to the UK, I have kept to a vegetarian diet and continued to use the ayurvedic teas supplied by Dr Joshi. My skin remains clear and I feel great , physically and mentally.

Dr. Joshi and his team have helped me through a crisis with my skin and their treatment has been extremely effective. As anyone who lives with psoriasis knows, it is a very cruel illness to live with and western medicine has as yet failed to find a sataisfactory way of controlling it without seriously adverse side effects. The Ayurvedic treatment applied by Dr. Joshi appears to be very effective for sufferers of psoriasis and beneficial to overall well-being.

  • Abhyanga Massage

Abhyanga, the Ayurvedic form of massage, functions as both a strengthening and reducing therapy. There are four main reasons for giving or receiving an Abhyanga:

ï¿½ To purify the blood and tissues of toxins
      ï¿½ To strengthen and rejuvenate
ï¿½ To maintain strength and balance

  • Panchakarma

Panchakarma therapy is also used as a purification therapy to cleanse the body before starting a treatment. A diseased body can be compared to a soiled cloth which can not be colored as we desire. Hence to attain the maximum benefits , the body has to be purified or cleaned before starting the treatment. The cleared channels help medicines to penetrate the deeper tissues.
